Toronto punk act PUP are coming to King Tuts in Glasgow.
The Canadian four-piece released their self-titled debut album earlier this year.
The band formed around Toronto’s punk scene, writing music separately before eventually coming together and building a local reputation that quickly extended beyond the reaches of their city.
After laying waste to venues across North America, the band recorded their debut album with Dave Schiffman (The Mars Volta, Weezer, Biffy Clyro).
The record, out on SideOneDummy Records, is a jubilant yet snarling opus that perfectly encapsulates the simple, powerful punk aesthetic that PUP champion. Each track is laced with abrasive guitar lines, hard-hitting percussion and naturally, plenty of singalong appeal.
PUP will play King Tuts on 27 August.
