HEAD along to The Tolbooth in Stirling for a musical night.

On Saturday 14 March, Trillium will take an exciting evening of chamber music to the local venue.

Stirling string players Katrina Bateman and Jane Colvin are joined by acclaimed Edinburgh-based pianist Ingrid Sawers in Mozart’s hauntingly beautiful B flat piano trio and in the tour-de-force that is Shostakovich’s piano trio, brimming with fire and passion.

The programme will also feature some lighter elements including Elgar’s Chanson de Matin and some Liszt for solo piano.

The show will start at 8pm, tickets are £14/£12.

Saturday 21 March will bring acoustic four-piece Salt House, the meeting of four distinct musical minds from the Scottish scene.

Their highly current sound is earthy, deep-rooted, yet eagerly progressive, built from grassroots folk with contemporary influences.

Boasting previous winners of BBC Young Folk Awards, a Scottish Jazz Award and many titles at the MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards.

Their reworking of old ballads sits alongside their own writing and the instrumental section wraps Siobhan Miller’s striking, distinctively Scottish voice in a myriad of musical colour and textures.

The show starts at 8pm, tickets are £13/£11.
