ANOTHER successful production has come to an end and Alloa Musical Players (AMP) will soon be gearing up for their next – Into The Woods.
After months of hard work, preparation and rehearsals the local theatre group transported audiences back to the 1940s, taking to the stage with Rodgers and Hammerstein’s South Pacific for a four day run.
Set in an island paradise during World War II, the musical followed two parallel love stories endangered by prejudice and war.
June Kean, president of AMP, said: “Alloa Musical Players brought South Pacific to Alloa Town Hall, with five performances over the period 4-7 March. A well received popular musical delivered by a wealth of local talent. Many new faces taking to the stage for the first time with AMP, and proving they have such flair and talent.
“The cast had great fun entertaining the audiences, with the male chorus belting out ‘Nothing Like a Dame’, while the women gave great gusto to ‘Wash That Man’, it truly was a joy to perform.
“We will start rehearsals for our 2016 show ‘Into The Woods’ at the end of August, so if you would like to join us check us out at alloamusicalplayers.web.com or find us on Facebook.”
