OFF the Page book festival celebrates its 10 year anniversary this spring, with a fresh look and exciting line-up.

Organised by Stirling Libraries, and taking place between Friday 8 and Tuesday 19 May, it is sure to be another fantastic event.

Director of communities and partnerships Stacey Burlet said: “Off the Page is an incredibly important part of our calendar, bringing world-class authors and literary events to people in Stirling.

“We’re proud to be celebrating the festival’s 10th anniversary this year and we’re placing a much stronger emphasis on community events that get great writers out and about to meet readers all across the Stirling area.

“There really is something for everyone in Off the Page and tickets are likely to sell out quickly, so I’d encourage everyone to book early to secure their seats.” Among those set to appear during the annual festival are Scottish actors Tony Roper and Alex Norton, award-winning journalist and broadcaster Sally Magnusson and Professor June Andrews, director of the Dementia Services Development Centre at Stirling University.

Visiting authors include Karen Campbell, Piers Dudgeon and Falkirk-born novelist and playwright Alan Bissett, one of Scotland’s most celebrated writers.

Fans of Bloody Scotland – Stirling’s international crime writing festival – will be able to enjoy a crime panel with some of the writers behind the event, discussing what makes Tartan Noir so special.

The Tolbooth theatre will also play host to Andy Scott, the man behind The Kelpies.

Children and families are also well catered for with events for all ages including a 150th anniversary celebration of Alice in Wonderland, a Teddy Bears’ picnic and bookbug session and pirates and princesses parties.

Visiting children’s authors include Cathy Cassidy, Jonathan Meres and Keith Brumpton.
