Review includes Ministry of Sound: Running Trax Summer 2012, Future Disco Presents: Poolside Sounds, a Spotify playlist recommendation, and a selection of festivals, videos and gigs to check out.

Ministry of Sound: Running Trax Summer 2012

Nicely timed in keeping with the potential increase of Brits who will pound the streets next month inspired by the Olympics, Ministry of Sound has put together a solid workout mix. The playlist features the likes of Calvin Harris' Feel So Close, M83's Midnight City (Eric Prydz Private Remix), Avicii's Fade Into Darkness (Albin Myers Remix) and a few classics in the shape of Sash!'s Ecuador, ATB's 9pm (Til I Come) and Delerium's Silence (ft. Sarah McLachlan). It's good, but it's not the greatest collection you'll ever have pumping through your earphones. I suggest you save cash by creating your own.

Future Disco Presents: Poolside Sounds

It's that time of year when we pasty Brits fly off to sunnier climes. For those that frequent the Balearics this compilation will most likely soundtrack your summer. The tunes are easy, fresh 'n' cool - it's something I'd throw on during a laidback house party or garden barbeque. My top tracks are Psychic City (Classixx Remix) by Yacht, Lovebirds' Want You In My Soul (ft. Stee Downes) and The 2 Bears' Bear Hug (Maxxi Soundsystem Remix).

Spotify Playlist Recommendation:

Friends: Sorry. alt-J: Dissolve Me. Best Coast: Better Girl. The Jezabels: Horsehead. Cocknbullkid: Cocknbullkid. I Heart Sharks: Summer. Francis International Airport: Amnesiacs.
