BUILDING work has been completed on the new £20 million community healthcare centre in Alloa.
Contractors Robertson Central completed work on the Clackmannanshire facility last week and staff and patients could be moving in to the new centre by August.
Commissioning of the facility by NHS Forth Valley is expected to take place over the next eight weeks.
Once the commissioning is completed, first to move in will be the adult mental health resource centre followed by Clackmannan and Sauchie Hospitals and then Alloa Health Centre.
Kathy O"Neill, general manager of Clackmannanshire CHP said, 'This centre represents a key milestone in delivering NHS Forth Valley"s integrated Healthcare Strategy to bring care closer to people"s homes. It represents the very best clinical care for the people of Clackmannanshire.
'This is a modern community healthcare campus set in a mature landscape with all patients being treated in single en-suite rooms.'
The centre will contain a replacement for the current Alloa Health Centre and outpatient area, which will include three GP practices - with a total of l6 GPs - community nursing, podiatry, dental, physiotherapy and dermatology outreach.
It is estimated that around 800 patients a day will receive treatment with primary care offered to 25,000 people.
Councillor Sam Ovens, portfolio holder for regeneration, and chair of the Clackmannanshire Community Health Partner-
ship, said, 'The Clackmannan-
shire Community Healthcare Centre is a very important project, and should be seen as part of an overall health care strategy designed to bring continuing health improvements throughout the whole of Forth Valley.
'The project is the culmination of excellent joint working between Forth Valley Health Board and Clackmannanshire Council.'
Robertson executive chairman Bill Robertson, said, 'Robertson are delighted to have completed the construction phase of this significant healthcare investment for NHS Forth Valley.
'Robertson has a long and successful history of working in partnership with the NHS.
'The 30-year operational partnership will provide substantial opportunities for Robertson to align its asset management skills alongside public sector service delivery expertise, creating a joined up approach to improving the long term care and management of Scotland"s NHS accommodation needs.'

Will there be any new jobs at the new hospital advertised soon. I am looking for a vacancy and would be very interested in applying for any jobs there as a nurse. I watch the nhs web site but there has been nothing at all up to now. I don't want to miss any opportunities, do you have your own website. Please let me know. Many thanks. Maureen.
