Jane McDonald is in concert at The Alhambra on Thursday 2 September - there's a chance to win tickets for the show in this week's Alloa Advertiser.

A SPECTACULAR range of comedy, music and drama is on offer at The Alhambra Theatre in Dunfermline, which has just released its Autumn/Winter programme.

Following on from sell-out shows earlier in the year by Frankie Boyle and Jimmy Carr, The Alhambra has lined up fantastic comedy from the likes of Jason Manford, Mark Watson, Ross Noble and Edinburgh Fringe favourite Danny Bhoy.

This year, the theatre has also hosted sold-out shows from The Stranglers, The Proclaimers and local legends The Skids, and it aims to carry on that success with forthcoming shows by legendary artists such as Runrig, Steve Earle and Aly Bain & Phil Cunningham.

Autumn also brings the much-loved diva and TV favourite Jane McDonald to the Alhambra, and the first appearance at the venue by Scottish Opera, when it performs the ever-popular 'Carmen' on 14 September.

The Moscow Ballet make a welcome return in November, with Christmas favourite 'The Nutcracker'.

And there's a host of musical shows, including 80's Mania, Take That tribute Back for Good, Beatles spectacular Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Show.

There's also a first appearance at The Alhambra of top children's entertainers The Singing Kettle, who will present Santa's Fun Factory on 31 December.

Another festive highlight is the traditional Christmas pantomime 'Cinderella', featuring former Dunfermline Athletic FC manager Jim Leishman as an Ugly Sister, as well as many more exciting names to be announced.

The Russian Ice Stars will provide yet another first for the theatre - and for Fife - when they perform 'Peter Pan on Ice' from 7 to 12 December.

This spectacular production is sure to dazzle and amaze, as J.M. Barrie's classic tale is brought to life for the first time on the magnificent - and completely frozen - Alhambra stage.
