CONTENDERS for the Scottish Variety Awards have been revealed for this year’s glitzy awards bash with exclusive performances from Roddy Hart & The Lonesome Fire announced for the night.

The Scottish Variety Awards, which this year will take place on Saturday 22 March, is an evening to recognise Scotland’s home grown, up and coming stars of the future where KJM Events will once again play host to the evening at the Glasgow Crowne Plaza.

March 2013 saw a star-studded evening raising thousands for charity and previous headliners on the night have included Susan Boyle, Emeli Sande, Amy Mcdonald to name but a few.

The Proceeds from the evening will go to Capital FM’s nominated Charity ‘Help a Capital Child’ and DEBRA.  The evening will again be hosted by Capital FM Breakfast stars Des and Jennie and will comprise of eight special awards, which are voted for by the Scottish public online at www.capitalfm.com/scotland/events/scottishvarietyawards2014 Voting commences on Monday 3 February and closes on Friday 7 March at midnight.  Co-founder, Laura Marks, said, “We are absolutely delighted to announce this year’s nominees. It will be another fantastic evening for a fantastic cause.” On the night the awards will also pay recognition to some very special Scottish individuals.  Previous winners of ‘The Scottish Variety Award for Outstanding Achievement’ are Paolo Nutini, 2009; Amy Macdonald, 2010 and Susan Boyle, 2011. And 2012 saw Emeli Sande win ‘Breakthrough artist of the Year’ and Andrew Fairlie crowned as an ‘Outstanding Achiever’ with the amazing Karen Dunbar taking the crown in 2013 alongside Nina Nesbitt as ‘Scottish Breakthrough Artist’.
