DOROTHY, the Tin Man, Lion and Scarecrow will be following the Yellow Brick Road at the Macrobert Arts Centre.

Enjoy the dancing show from Alloa Ballet Company and Stirling Academy of Dance, on Saturday 28 and Sunday 1 March at the Stirling venue.

Two hundred performers, aged two and a half to 26, have been working hard to perfect their routines.

The first half of the performance will showcase ballet, tap, modern and jazz by the pupils, with some guest appearances from former students, and the second half is a full length ballet devised by principal Heather Shrimpton – entitled The Wizard of Oz.

Heather said: β€œIt takes such a lot of hard work putting on a show, but the pupils have risen to the occasion, and this certainly will be a show stopper.” The show follows the classic tale of Dorothy trying to find her way back to Kansas with the help of a few friends she finds along the way. At times she is thwarted by the evil witch and her band of flying monkeys, but eventually makes it to the Wizard - but does he help her in her journey back to Kansas?

The pupils and parents have been helping to fundraise for the show with a dance around Airthrey Loch, a pennies in the smarties tube activity for every pupil and a massive prize raffle to be drawn on the 1 March.

Tickets are available from the Macrobert box office on 01786 466666.
