AFTER years of hard work, many hurdles and much determination, a new, Scottish hard rock band have released their debut EP.

Inhale The Deep, a two-piece of Alloa drummer Neale Williamson and Kelso musician Sean Connor, released four hard hitting, refreshingly original and entirely self produced songs on iTunes and Amazon MP3 on Monday (27 April).

The band formed in the summer of 2012 when Neale (drums and production) and Sean (guitar and vocals) instantly established common ground after they met. They saw members come and go, gigs fall through or turned down, hopes built up and shattered.

They soldiered on as a two-piece with great determination and drive recording their debut release with a little help from friend Andy Isacsson, who mixed and mastered the tracks and gave a hand recording vocals in his small Glasgow studio.

Sean told the Advertiser: “We’ve cut our teeth on the live circuit playing the usual small venues around Glasgow, now it’s time to see what the public really make of us.

“In the current climate, I’d say it’s been staggeringly easy to [release a record]. It takes a lot of time and patience learning all the recording techniques, which Neale has tirelessly worked at, but practice makes perfect and I think what we’ve produced sounds pretty great for two guys recording at home.

“I think that’s why it’s so hard to get a record to go anywhere these days because there are so many artists out there recording their own stuff at home on their laptops and then paying an online distributor to make their music instantly available to the public.

“We know that without big budgets and a sizeable bank account behind you, bands and artists like us inevitably struggle. But, never the less we can still try our best.” The band’s sounds are hard hitting and melodic at the same time. Neale’s steady and elaborate grooves form the backbone of the record while Sean’s edgy, raw and canorous tones are similar to the likes of Alter Bridge, Shinedown and Black Stone Cherry.
