WHEN the leader of the Tory Party in Scotland tells us that a vote for his party is our ‘best shot’ at securing UK government funding, it tells us a lot about him – and about the way in which the Tories view the allocation of public funds. Firstly, they want to spend it where they choose, by-passing the Scottish government and the people who were actually elected by the Scottish people. And, secondly, they think that community funding payouts should be used as an election bribe.

FOODBANKS have been around in the UK for over twenty years – although obviously the idea of charitably providing food for those in need stretches back through the Victorian soup kitchens and into the mists of time.
AS WE HEAD into September, schools have been back for a couple of weeks now and I am pleased to say that there are many families across Clackmannanshire who will already have felt the benefit of the Scottish Government delivering on promises made during the election campaign.
