ABERDEEN singer-songwriter Craig John Davidson is preparing to release his new album, following a period of reflection.

Tickets To The Sea will be unveiled next month, with the Granite City man following-up on the 2020 album Queen's Compulsion.

The ten-track effort also features singles from last year in Best You Ever Had and Down At Down.

The LP comes as Davidson muses on the last year or so as she makes a conscious effort to hold on to the positives.

The singer says: "With this Tickets To The Sea, the songs always seem to end on a positive note making it by far the most optimistic series of songs I've released. I'm always trying to figure things out to make myself a better more balanced person.

"It's hard to pinpoint what this album is about, because it's been a whole half a lifetime of trying catch my tail and just keep writing and recording. It's almost like a snapshot, an observation of the period of time it's been written.

"It's also strange because some songs are almost country sounding. And then some of them are really spacey and atmospheric. So you can almost chart what I've been listening to."

Tickets To The Sea will be released on March 25.
