PEOPLE always say they can remember seeing a big act "before they were famous".

There is usually a smug smile that goes along with the story. Maybe a little embellishment of "I knew they'd make it as soon as I saw them" or even just a gentle reminiscence of "I was really into them before they started dressing like THAT".

With the way the Scottish music scene is going right now, these stories will continue. Starting with all those who were at PJ Molloys to catch Connor Fyfe earlier this month. They will say the same thing in years to come – maybe not the dress-code remark.

Of course, it wasn't just the talents of young Connor on display, with SILVI absolutely on fire in her own right, alongside fellow upstart Keiran Forbes showcasing his prodigiousness.

Indeed, the latter opened the evening with an intriguing indie-rock set. The mid-set mash-up of covers certainly had the crowd going throughout.

There is definitely more to come from this latest Fife export – and he will be performing on the same stage as part of the Classy Lassy Records Club Night on February 26.

West Lothian's own SILVI then takes to the stage for a spell-binding performance.

Truly, this is a voice to behold. Even without a backing band, it was a powerful half-hour of original music. Make no mistake, this is the tip of the iceberg for SILVI.

And then, despite having to follow two great sets, Connor Fyfe did Connor Fyfe things – a true live performer.

Much has been said of his young age already. But that should be irrelevant now. He is not "one for the future" but one for right now.

A hard-hitting set littered with Sorry, War, Pray, Truth Be Told and Don't was always going to be a winner. But his voice and his energy in a live setting is something that has to be experienced.

There is really no ceiling for Fyfe and another impressive year awaits.

In the end, three emerging acts. Three incredible sets. And a room full of people with, perhaps, another round of "before they were famous" stories.
