CONNECT organisers have added a handful of new bands and a comedy line-up to this year's festival bill.

The three-day event is set to take place at Edinburgh's Royal Highland Centre on August 26-28, with the likes of Idles, The Chemical Brothers and The National headlining.

Idlewild, Swim School, Bombay Bicycle Club, Mogwai, Admiral Fallow, Hamish Hawk, Lizzie Reid, The Twilight Sad, Sam Gellaitry and Joesef were also confirmed.

This week, organisers unveiled a final batch of music acts including Lucia & The Best Boys, The Joy Hotel, CMAT, The Mysterines, and KILIMANJARO. 

On top of that, The Speakeasy stage was also announced, which will also host comedy, talks and artist Q&As.

Comedy will come from Mark Nelson, Fern Brady, Sean McLoughlin, Katie Pritchard and many more.

In addition, Stuart Braithwaite and James Graham of The Twilight Sad and Mogwai fame join Connect for an evening of conversation, detailing their fascinating careers so far.

Furthermore, up-and-upcoming artist LVRA will also be in conversation about her journey so far.
