BUDDING young gardeners will have a chance to see their creative side flourish this April school holiday.

The Thistles shopping centre is set to host five fun-filled days of free events for families with its Little Sprouts Gardening Club running a different activity each day.

Taking place outside Next, the club will run activities from 12noon to 4pm from Monday, April 3, to Friday, April 7.

Children will have the chance to enjoy a magical garden and experience a bug’s eye view surrounded by oversized blades of grass and a troop of cute and crimson toadstools.

Kicking-off the fun on Monday, young people will have a chance to put their decorative skills to the test by designing their very own toadstool cupcakes and taking home a tasty snack.

Other crafty challenges during the week will include mossy bird box building, an apron making workshop, maca-zoom snail macaroons and the chance to make their own egg box mini gardens.

Gary Turnbull, centre director, said: “We’re excited to bring the Little Sprouts Gardening Club to Thistles for the spring holidays.

“With a fantastic selection of activities, there’s something to keep everyone entertained throughout the week and allow their creativity to blossom.

“At Thistles, we pride ourselves on hosting a variety of free events focusing on a range of educational topics to add to the selection of retail and food and drink outlets we have throughout the mall.”

The club will be free to attend on a first come, first served bases with no need to pre-book.
