THE Scottish SPCA is seeking the owner of a lucky budgie found just metres away from a lurking cat.
Scotland’s animal welfare charity was called out on Sunday evening (6 July) after the green and yellow bird, nicknamed Gary by staff, was spotted by a passerby on the pathway between Alloa and Clackmannan.
The male budgie is now in the care of the charity’s Edinburgh and Lothians Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Balerno.
Inspector Louise Seddon said, “Gary has certainly had a very lucky escape. It’s likely Gary has escaped through an open door or window with the recent warm weather. Hopefully someone will recognise Gary and come forward as we’re sure he would love to go home after his adventure.” Anyone who recognises Gary is being asked to contact the Scottish SPCA’s animal helpline on 03000 999 999.
