The demolition of a block of flats at 21-39 The Orchard in Tullibody has been agreed by councillors.
The site will be flattened and developed for 12 ‘cottage flats’ similar to those at The Maltings.
Councillors agreed the move at a recent meeting of the Housing, Health and Care Committee.
Originally Clackmannanshire Council officers sought to refurbish the site but the plans changed due to delays over design issues.
Kenny Hutton, service manager, wrote in his committee report, “As new build the site would have the additional benefit of attracting £552,000 in government grant if developed for social rented housing and will better compliment regeneration activity.” Councillors unanimously agreed for the immediate demolition of the site and its redevelopment next year.
