A GROUP of 20 carers had a great evening out at Hillfoots Butchers and Farm Shop.
On Wednesday 27 August, owner William Holleran, along with son Alan, explained how the meat is sourced and how butchers are trained in his five shops.
The group were shown how to joint chicken, make chicken Balmoral, learned about the company’s famous breakfast sausage and had a bit of fun with the sausage machine.
The evening ended with refreshments and samples of the various pies and sausages that are made.
Carer support worker, with The Princess Royal Trust Carers Centre ( Falkirk & Clackmannanshire), Sharon Morgan, said, “Part of our role is to encourage carers to take more times for themselves, especially to enjoy social activities. Our aim is to prevent carers becoming isolated. We organise various outing and events through the year to encourage this.”
