French visitors from Dollar’s twin town were given a warm Scottish welcome.
Last week (2-8 August), 55 guests from the town of La Ville aux Dames, Loire Valley, were hosted by local residents from Dollar and the surrounding area.
The weather was mostly kind to the visitors who went on trips to see Edinburgh, the Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies, New Lanark, St Andrews and more.
A French gala evening by the guests entertained the hosts, who responded with a lively ceilidh at Dollar Academy.
Many friendships have developed over time through the twinning between the towns, which has now reached its 34th year.
Everyone had a great time and the people from Dollar are already planning a trip to visit La Ville aux Dames next year.
