A man has appeared in court charged with raping one woman and attempting to rape another on the same night in a Scottish city.
Thomas McQuillan Robertson is said to have carried out the attacks in the Raploch area of Stirling on the night of February 2-3 - Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning.
Robertson, 26, from Saltcoats, Ayrshire, appeared on petition at Stirling Sheriff Court on Thursday afternoon, accused of raping the 21-year-old woman and assaulting the second woman, whose age was not given, with intent to rape.
He also faces nine other charges.
He made neither plea nor declaration at a brief, private hearing before Sheriff William Gilchrist.
Defence solicitor Ken Dalling made no motion for bail.
The case was continued for further examination, and Robertson was remanded in custody.
