POLICE are warning shoppers after an elderly lady was the target of a distraction theft in the Wee County at the weekend.
The incident occurred in Alloa's Asda on Saturday, August 20, between 4.30pm and 4.45pm, when a 63-year-old was approached by three people whilst shopping.
The elderly lady was approached by three people of “Eastern European appearance” - a male engaged her in conversation, in the meantime, it appears, one of the others reached into her shopping trolley, removing her purse, which contained a large amount of cash.
Officers are appealing for information, contact Police Scotland at Alloa via 101.
