A YOUNG Dollar Academy piper has earned first place in the finals of the MacGregor Memorial Piping Competition.
At the age of just 14, Finlay Cameron (FIV) won the competition, open to pipers under the age of 22.
The premier piping event, which saw stiff competition between 28 highly talented young pipers, was hosted at the Argyllshire Gathering on behalf of the local piping trust over two days during the Oban Games week.
Finlay’s tutor, Mr Callum Beaumont who was himself competing in Oban, said: “It is a significant achievement for someone of Finlay’s age to enjoy success at Oban against such a strong end experienced field.
“Many enjoyed his performance of Isabel MacKay and commented on the maturity of his playing. I am absolutely delighted for Finlay.”
