BRAVE little Logan Mowatt is hoping to be well enough to attend the fundraising night being held in his honour.

The youngster has been in hospital since the start of the year, having been told he has Leukaemia on New Year's Eve.

News of his diagnosis spread and family friends Jill Collins and Chris Chalk launched a fundraising drive to make sure Logan's family wouldn't struggle financially.

They've also put together a evening of entertainment at Sachie Hall next month to help boost the fund, and it's hoped the six-year-old will be able to go himself.

Jill told the Advertiser: "Logan's hoping to be there on the night, even just for a wee hour or so.

"He's dealing with the chemo a lot better – he's been managing to get up and about.

"All being well, we're hoping he will be out of the hospital on February 10, about a week or so before the event.

"He really wants to be there, so there's every chance he'll make an appearance.

"We've told him he can draw the raffle on the night, and if he can't make it then maybe his little sister can do it."

About 150 people are expected to attend Logan's fundraiser on February 18, though there are a few tickets still remaining.

A full evening of entertainment is already been arranged, with a visit from Broxy the Bear – the Rangers FC mascot – among the highlights for the youngsters.

Jill added: "It should be a good turnout – we've got a DJ, face-painting, a photographer and a load of prizes for the raffle.

"Logan's [mum's partner] and uncle, one of whom is a big Rangers fan and the other is a big Celtic fan, they are going to be wearing the other's football kit for the night as well.

"It's just a wee bit extra fun really. They were only supposed to be doing it for an hour, but they've been talking into it for the whole night now."
