MEMBERS of Home-Start Clackmannanshire received a welcome funding boost recently, thanks to those at the Rotary Club of Alloa.
The group raised more than £1,000 for the Wee County charity, which provides support and friendship to local families, following a collection at the Santa at Sterling project.
Rotary members recently handed over the cheque over to Maureen Holden, Irene Richmond and Shelley Bowman, along with some groceries following a separate appeal.
Meanwhile, the Clacks branch of Home-Start are currently looking for volunteers.
Organisers are searching for people who "want to make a difference" and who understand how difficult it is to be a parent.
Volunteering would take around 2-3 hours a week and involved work with vulnerable people at their own home.
Parents, those with parenting experience or those who have worked with children or families before are being sought.
A comprehensive training programme is provided, starting January 29, and membership of the PVG scheme is necessary.
Travel expenses are reimbursed, and those wishing to express and interest can call 01259 213 453.
