FAKE £20 notes are circulating in and around Alloa, police warned today (Wednesday February 21).
Officers say the majority of the fraudulent money appear to be Clydesdale Bank notes, with most bearing the serial number WLJ618094.
Police received several complaints and an investigation is now underway, but people, especially those manning the counters in business premises, are being urged to remain especially vigilant when checking cash.
The notes are said to be of reasonable quality and anyone with any information is asked to call 101, quoting the reference number PS-20180219-1919 or PS-20180220-2353.
