A MAN has been arrested after an attempted armed robbery this morning.
The alarm was raised at 6.40am when the man entered the Sauchie post office armed with a knife and demanded cash.
The Advertiser understands that the woman who was working at the time told the accused that there was CCTV and a panic button, which she made her way towards.
At this point the suspect fled the premises empty handed.
Nobody was injured and the police were called.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "A 26-year-old man has been arrested following an attempted robbery at a business premises in Main Street, Sauchie on Wednesday 27th June.
