CLACKMANNAN was in fine voice last Friday as youngsters gleefully joined with others for a bit of a sing-song at the town hall.

Residents were joined by pupils from Clackmannan Primary School as the group welcomed a host of new faces along to the event.

The community sing-along is one in a series of events hosted by the Clackmannan Development Trust, with another planned for later this month.

Bonnie, one of the organisers, was delighted to welcome some fresh faces along to the Thank You for the Music event last week.

She said: “Among the new people, we enjoyed the company of two children, attending for the first time with their gran.

“Children from Clackmannan Primary School joined us again, with Ms Currie.

"The school children gave us a treat by singing the Baby Shark song and we also sang a few songs together from the youngest children's repertoire, including The Wheels on the Bus...and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.

“Familiar songs from previous decades were also sung, including Bring Me Sunshine, Harvest Moon, Morning Town and Happiness."

After the singing, many people went for an enjoyable lunch at Bargains and Bites with delicious soup, fresh scones and hot drinks.

Bonnie went on to explain how the monthly community event come to pass.

She continued: “The sing-along and story time take place once per month, and have evolved from conversations in the community about finding new ways to get together and spend nice times together, whatever our age.

“Many thanks to Clackmannan Development Trust, Clackmannan Town Hall Trust, Clackmannan Health Centre, Clackmannan Primary School, the community council, Clackmannan Church, the Community Garden Group, Bargains and Bites and everyone else involved in one way or another.”

Anyone interested in attending the next event should look out for advertising notices advertising at Clackmannan Town Hall, and pop along and join in.
