KIND-HEARTED staff at Alloa's McDonald's restaurant raised £355 in aid of The Gate Charity foodbank.

The money was enough to fill 40 food parcels and pay for some additional fresh food too.

Staff at the restaurant raised the funds by holding a customer raffle for a Christmas hamper, which ran throughout December and early January.

The 40 food parcels will be distributed by the charity over the next few weeks.

Founded by members of the Ludgate Church, The Gate works in partnership with external services to help improve the lives of the homeless and vulnerable in Clackmannanshire.

Russell Parker, business manager at McDonalds, said: "The staff and I would like to thank everyone who entered the raffle at the restaurant and helped us raise this money for The Gate foodbank.

"We're thrilled to have helped fill 40 food parcels for the charity and we look forward to working with them again in the future."
