FIVE glassworks employees were taken to hospital last night after a fire broke out at the Alloa plant.
Emergency services were dispatched to the O-I site after the alarm was raised at around midnight.
Three fire crews raced to Glasshouse Loan and tackled the blaze, with police and ambulances also on the scene.
It is believed the five workers were later treated for smoke inhalation at Larbert, having been assessed by members of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) and paramedics.
A spokesman for the SFRS said: "[We were] alerted at 11.50pm on Sunday, March 31, to reports of a building fire in Alloa.
"Operations Control mobilised three fire engines to the town's Glasshouse Loan, where firefighters extinguished the fire.
"Three casualties were given treatment at the scene by firefighters before being transferred into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service and transported to Forth Valley Hospital.
"Crews left the scene after ensuring the area had been made safe."
A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed: "We received a call at 12.18am to attend an incident on Glasshouse Loan.
"We dispatched two ambulances to the scene and transported five patients to Forth Valley Royal Hospital."
