THIS year’s winners at Tillicoultry Bridge Club are reminding people that lessons on the popular card game are on offer, starting this month.

Pictured with their silverware are proud victors Jimmy Hamilton as well as Kit Gow and Margo Webster.

They are encouraging people interested to take on the offer and enjoy some lessons as the three clubs of the Wee County, known collectively as the Hillfoots Bridge Clubs, are looking to bring some fresh blood to the table.

The lessons are being organised by the clubs at Tillicoultry, Dollar and Alloa which all meet every week.

The sessions will be available for beginners and improvers, starting on Tuesday, April 30, from 2pm to 4pm at Tillicoultry Golf Club.

People heading along will learn the basics including how to set the game up, how the bidding process works and what the play looks like.

Bridge is a trick taking game using the standard French 52-card decks and in its most basic format is played by four players in two competing partnerships.

Playing the game is also a good way to socialise.

A series of lessons, which will be delivered by Rosemary Millar, on the fascinating card game are on offer and people are asked to email david.gow@sky.com to express an interest.
