MOUNTAIN rescue volunteers in the Wee County were called to assist partner agencies at Tillicoultry Quarry last week.
The Ochils Mountain Rescue Team worked with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, Forth Valley Police and the Scottish Ambulance Service to help a cragfast abseiler on Monday, April 15.
The person in need of assistance became stranded on a difficult-to-access rock.
The local team proved helpful with their local knowledge of the area and provided safety cover over the course of the incident.
Meanwhile rope rescue teams from the fire brigade were lowered into the quarry to reach and secure the casualty before lowering them to the ground.
A spokesperson for the team said on social media: “A great example of joint working resulted in the person being safely lowered quickly, they did not require any medical assistance.”
