CRAIGBANK Primary School Glee Club won the Glee Choir Competition held in Alloa Town Hall against a host of Wee County schools.

The event, which took place last week, was organised and run by the Frisson Foundation charity and was the second year the competition has come to Clackmannanshire.

To participate, children have to sing and dance and are scored on their musicality and overall performance.

There were six competing primary schools - Clackmannan, Banchory, St Bernadette’s, Menstrie, Craigbank and Alva primary schools – as they all vied for the crown of Wee County Glee champions.

All schools had to sing one set song – The Greatest by Sia - and then choose a second song by themselves.

For the second year in a row, Craigbank won the event singing The Greatest and Touch the Sky from the film Brave which was taught by their choir leaders Sarah Simpson and Fiona Duncan.

Craigbank will now go forward to the Forth Valley round of the competition in the Albert Halls in May and compete against winning schools from Falkirk and Stirling.
