TWO cars were torched in a quiet Renfrewshire village in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Police say the motors were set alight by a firebug in Kingswood Road, Bishopton, at around 1am.

Detectives investigating the incident say items were placed under the windscreen wipers of a silver Golf and Ford Transit van and set on fire.
