FANS of a Wee County singer will have the chance to see their favourite live in Falkirk this month, following the cancellation of a festival in Stirling.

Alva's very own Stevie McCrorie, local firefighter and winner of The Voice on BBC, will play the main stage at Vibration Festival, held at Callendar Park on Saturday, May 25.

The 33-year-old musician was due to perform at Stirling's Forthside Festival at the weekend past, but the event had to be called off due to a lack of "financial backing" – as reported in the Advertiser last week.

Those frustrated at the missed opportunity to see him live will be delighted to hear Stevie has been added to the Vibration bill and he is now looking forwards to play to fans in, what is hoped to be, Scottish sunshine.

He said: "There is nothing better than playing outside in the open air and it just gets everyone in a good mood.

"The line up for Vibration Festival is great and I'm happy to be a part of it."

Stevie, who lives in Alva with family, will appear alongside established headliners Feeder, with The Coral and Alabama 3 featuring alongside some more up and coming acts.

With music throughout the day on two stages, the festival, which is being organised for the first time, will also see street performers, drink tastings and plenty for the little ones with a strong family focus.

For young people there will be music making sessions, magicians, animal handling and face painting.
