AN ALLOA man has been fined after being caught behind the wheel 12 days before his driving ban came to an end.

Milosz Baczynski faced a single charge of driving while disqualified when he appeared in the Alloa Sheriff Court dock last Thursday, May 23.

The court heard that on April 22 of this year the police were on patrol at around 1.50am when they saw an Audi speed past them on Devon Road, Alloa.

After taking off in pursuit, officers found the vehicle parked at an address on Maree Court with Baczynski in the driver’s seat.

When officers quizzed him and took his licence, a check found that the accused was currently serving a six month ban. He then told police he was the driver of the car.

Jay Goodwillie, defending, told the court that her client had made a “foolish decision” to get into the car when he was just 12 days away from his ban expiring.

She added that the accused “understood the consequences”.

Sheriff David Mackie decided against any further ban, instead fining Baczynski, of Maree Court, a total of £500 with six penalty points added to his licence.
