PUPILS at Menstrie primary school signed off the academic year with an act of goodwill last week.
Those who were able to brought in a pair of shoes that no longer fits them and left them on their desks in order for them to be redistributed to children around the world who don’t have any.
Organised by charity Sal’s Shoes, it launched the Toe to Toe campaign and each year schools across the UK to redistribute worn and outgrown shoes to children around the world who don’t have any.
It is thought that more than 200 pairs of shoes were left for redistribution at Menstrie last Friday.
A spokesperson from the school said: “A huge thank you to Menstrie Afterschool Club for providing the boxes that the shoes will be shipped in and Alloa Tool Hire (AHC) for their support in shipping the shoes from Menstrie to Sal’s Shoes distribution centre in Surrey.”
