A COUPLE from Tillicoultry have entered a fundraising race in the hopes they can win a dream wedding.

Louise McNie and Alan Miller are one of the final four couples raising money for Strathcarron Hospice for a chance to win a £14,000 wedding from Central FM.

The long-term couple have been engaged for some 14 years now and the hospice is close to their hearts as they cared for his Alan's father.

They had been setting money aside for the big day for a long time, but the premature arrival of baby Philip at 26 weeks meant three life saving surgeries, three different hospitals and savings used up.

The youngster is now a healthy-go-lucky six-year-old and his parents are raising money with a variety of events.

One will see three volunteers from Certas Energy in a sponsored leg wax, with a supermarket bag pack planned.

Another event will be a prize bingo tea this Friday, July 19, at Tillicoultry Bowling Club.

Doors will open at 6.30pm with eyes down at 7.30pm, tickets are £1 and can be paid at the door.

Anyone not able to make the local event can still boost hospice funds and the local couple’s chances by visiting strathcarronhospice.net/fundraisers/louise-and-alan and leaving an online donation.
