RESURFACING works are set to bring a road closure on a stretch of the A823 next month.

The works will take place between the B934 Dunning Junction, Yetts O’ Muckhart, and the council boundary near Castlehill Reservoir, Glendevon, during the second week of August.

Works will begin from 8pm on Friday, August 9, and are expected to be completed by 6am on Monday, August 12.

It will involve the resurfacing of the existing road over an almost 170m long section between Mount Stuart and St Serf’s Cottages.

With the road closed throughout the weekend, a diversion will be in place via the A823 to Gleneagles, A9 to Broxden Roundabout, M90 to Milnathort and A91 to Yetts O’ Muckhart and vice versa.

Access to properties and businesses on the affected stretch will be restricted during this time.

A spokeswoman for Clackmannanshire Council said: “Safety is our top priority, and while we recognise that the road closure may affect journey times on the route, they are essential to ensure the safety of the travelling public whilst the operations are ongoing.

“We encourage road users to plan their journey in advance and allow some extra journey time.

“The teams will do all they can to complete the project as quickly and safely as possible.

“We thank road users for their patience in advance and encourage them to plan ahead.”
