A DOLLAR couple’s frenzied fundraising drive is set to end tonight following a busy weekend.

Sara Parandian and Keith Mitchell are one of the local pairs hoping to win a £14,000 wedding in a competition with Central FM.

It challenged them to raise as much as possible for Strathcarron Hospice in a short period of time with donations closing at 5pm tonight, Wednesday, July 24.

On Saturday, Keith’s former team Dollar Glen Football Club organised a fun day at Newfield as part of their fundraising bid.

There was glorious sunshine as around 20 children took to the pitch for a fun Dynamos football session.

The young people then had the chance to enjoy a bouncy castle, nail art and face painting with everyone appreciating a BBQ.

The night before, on Friday, they were at the Burnside Hall for a race night with friends and locals.

It also saw some brave males’ legs waxed for sponsorship and all funds will be going to the hospice, a charity which provides specialist palliative and expert end-of-life care.

Sara and Keith’s 12 days of fundraising also saw them organise a charity shop, a walk from Strathcarron to Kincardine and bag packing at local supermarkets.

They certainly had plenty of fundraising ideas and will be tuning into Central FM on Friday morning to hear the results.

There is still a chance to donate until 5pm today, visit strathcarronhospice.net/Fundraisers/sara-and-keith to do so and to read more about the couple.
