THE Ochils Mountain Rescue Team sprung into action last week to offer assistance to a young hillwalker experiencing a medical emergency.

Volunteers from the group received an afternoon callout on Tuesday, August 20, and raced to an area near the summit of Tarmangie, in the eastern Ochils, to reach the incapacitated hiker.

After arriving on scene, mountain rescue personnel worked together to assess and treat the casualty, before evacuating them from the hill to an awaiting ambulance.

Afterwards, a spokesperson for OMRT said: "A massive thank you goes to locals Graham and Cameron who once again transported MRT members onto the hill and ensured that our vehicles were able to gain access as close to the casualty as possible.

"This is the second time in recent weeks that they have provided assistance to the team and the ambulance service.

"We wish the casualty a speedy recovery."

As if that wasn't enough, the group were also called to another incident as they made their way down the hill with the walker.

OMRT's spokesperson added: "As team members were starting to make their way off the hill [they] were called out for a second time to assist Police Scotland.

"This incident concluded at 22:15 and team members stood down."
