POLICE have named the motorcyclist who died following an incident on the A91 this week as David Innes, from Alva.

The 35-year-old sustained serious injuries after his Yamaha motorcycle left the Hillfoots road near to Tillicoultry Golf Club at around 3.40pm on Wednesday, August 28.

The stretch of road between Tilly and Alva was temporarily closed after emergency services arrived.

And despite the best efforts of paramedics, Mr Innes was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Sergeant David Marr from the Road Policing Unit in Stirling has since issued a statement on behalf of Mr Innes’ family

He said: "I would like to extend my condolences to the family and friends of David Innes.

“I want to say thank you, on behalf of David's family, to all members of the public who stopped to provide assistance to David and to the members of the emergency services who attended.

“David's family would also like to extend their gratitude for all the support they are receiving from David's friends and from the public.”

On Facebook, James Craig wrote: “Simply heart breaking another good guy taken too soon, thoughts and prayers with family and friends at this sad time.”

And Agnes Ferry wrote: “So sad taken too soon thoughts are with his family and friends RIP young man.”
