A WEE COUNTY woman took all the plaudits last month as her company won a major design crown at the Scottish Home Improvement Awards.

Corrinne Muir took home the Best Interior Design Company prize at the fifth annual awards ceremony.

The Tullibody woman picked up the award at the gala final at the Marriott Hotel in Glasgow on August 23.

She was recognised for the “unique style” of her interior design work carried out by her Stirling based company, Corrinne Muir Interiors.

Corrinne told the Advertiser: “The fact we were even entered was mad.

“It’s great for our staff to be acknowledged and good to receive the accreditation for the work that we do.”

The company was up against six other competitors in the same category and judged by an independent panel of trade industry experts.

Muir, who originally got involved in the interior design trade with an interest in soft furnishings, told how her business has grown since their previous nomination:

She said: “We were last nominated two years ago and since then, we’ve been able to buy our own building in Springkerse industrial estate in Stirling.

“The atmosphere was better than we expected. We’re all still on a wee high.

“It’s great to see all the messages we’ve received on Facebook with so many people congratulating us and wishing us well.”

Corrinne Muir Interiors have also been shortlisted for both the Interior Design Commercial and Interior Design Residential categories in the Herald Property Awards for Scotland 2019, which will be held in Glasgow on September 26.
