EVENING motorists using the Kincardine and Clackmannanshire bridges are being advised to plan ahead as overnight inspections are set to close roads this month.
A full road closure will be required on the Kincardine Bridge between Monday, September 16, and Thursday, September 19, from 7.30pm to 6.30am each night.
A signed diversion route will take traffic through Kincardine and Kilbagie to the Clackmannanshire Bridge.
The bridge will close again between Saturday, September 21, and Monday, September 23, when a full closure will also be required during the same hours.
Over at the Clackmannanshire Bridge, traffic management will be in operation to allow inspections between Thursday, September 19, and the morning of Saturday, September 21.
The inspections will move to a second stage, again under lane closures, from Monday, September 23, to Thursday, September 26, when all the work is expected to finish.
Trunk roads network operator Amey explained the inspections are to ensure the longevity of the two bridges and to help identify any future refurbishment works which may be necessary.
It did warn, however, that the inspections are weather-dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if conditions are unfavourable.
