AN ELDERLY lady was left distressed last week after a thief walked into her Alloa home and stole an iPad from the bedroom.

The male culprit, who was wearing a grey hooded top, gained entry to the Shaftsbury Street property through an unsecured rear door before proceeding to take the item on the morning of last Tuesday, September 3.

Officers said the man was described only as "young and tall" and are looking for information in relation to the incident.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Police in Forth Valley are investigating following a theft from a home in Alloa.

"The incident happened around 6am on Tuesday, September 3, at an address in Shaftesbury Place.

"A male entered the house and stole a tablet device before making off.

"Inquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to come forward."

Officers are also reminding local residents to ensure all doors are locked at night.
