A WOMAN who repeatedly assaulted a child was given no punishment at Alloa Sheriff Court last week.

Jacqueline Soane, 54, was admonished for the offences when she appeared for sentencing on Thursday, September 5.

She committed three offences against a 14-year-old boy, including kicking him on the body, brandishing a pole and shouting abuse at him on May 20.

She went on to repeatedly punch the same child on the body and then brandish a slipper at him on June 3.

All the offences took place this year, in the Wee County.

Soane's solicitor, Larissa Milligan, said her client committed the offences because of the child's behaviour.

Ms Milligan then said: "She fully appreciates the way she behaved was unacceptable."

Sheriff David Mackie said: "It's quite right this prosecution was brought against you."

However, he said that because Soane, of Keirfold Avenue in Tullibody, was working to resolve her outstanding issues, he would admonish her.

This means that her conviction will be recorded and result in a criminal record, but she will face no other penalty for her actions.
