THE very first Beer Festival of Dollar is set to take place in October.

Brewers from the wider area will include Alva’s very own Harviestoun, Hybrid from Grangemouth and Larbert’s Tryst Brewery.

Altogether, the three will be showcasing 13 beers over October 4 and 5 at The Hive in Dollar.

The first night of the festival will see the Beer Connoisseurs Night from 7.30pm, which will welcome Harviestoun founder Ken Brooker for a talk about brewing methods and more.

Places are limited for the event with tickets, priced at £20, available from Dollar’s Deli, Brian Devlin’s, The Sorting Office and Ellie’s Cellar.

On Saturday there will be two separate events in the afternoon and the evening; the lunchtime one starts at 11.30am and will go on until 4pm with tickets priced at £10.

The evening event kicks off at 7.30pm and will also include live music from locally-based band The Stray Dogz – tickets are £15.

Entry prices include a unique festival glass and the first drink, vouchers for subsequent drinks are £3 each.
