A SMALL independent cafe is celebrating its second birthday later this month.

Cupcake Fashion Tea Room has been run by mother and daughter team Karen and Alice Clark as well as Tina Wakeley since opening in September 2017.

Now, two years on the cafe is enjoying a brilliant period of success.

“Cupcake Fashion Tea Room is based in the heart of the community and we are looking forward to celebrating our birthday,” Karen said.

“We are inviting customers to come and enjoy a free cupcake with every coffee or tea that is purchased on Wednesday, September 25.

Cupcake Fashion Tea Rooms is situated at the Ridgewood Centre on Station Road.

When speaking about why she believes the tea rooms are so popular, Karen revealed she thinks the decor could be key.

“Many customers are surprised when they see the size of the tea room as it’s a bit hidden away, you wouldn’t expect it to be so big,” Karen continued.

“We get called a hidden gem a lot.

“We can seat up to 50 people and we have tried to create a nice atmosphere with vintage decor and a glass roof.

“We are very busy at lunchtimes, so much so that we even recommend people start booking tables.”

Karen and her team look to hold a number of events for the community at the cafe, even hosting special parties for children with autism over the year.

“Large community groups are also very welcome and we try to make sure there is something for everyone,” she said.

“Every thing that you can buy at the tea room is made fresh.

“We don’t see the need to rush good food.

“We always try to hold events each year and our customers enjoy our Christmas and summer fairs.

“I am over whelmed by the love and support from our customers and welcome new ones daily, we couldn’t do it without them.

“Also to my wonderful staff, Alice and Tina, it’s a fantastic journey that we will continue on.”
