BREAKING news and landing a huge Scottish football scoop are at the heart of tonight’s fly-on-the-wall look at the Evening Times.

The second part of the hard-hitting documentary, The Papers, which airs at 9pm on BBC One Scotland, follows the sport and news teams as they cover the big issues of the day.

Awardwinning film-maker and producer Sarah Howitt was given unprecedented access to our offices for the series The Papers, which tells the inside story of the shared newsroom of The Herald, The National and Evening Times.

Tonight, the Evening Times has a starring role as the cameras caught sports reporter Alison McConnell’s Celtic exclusive.

Alison, now a freelance football writer, was the first journalist to get the story when Celtic boss Brendan Rogers resigned as manager of the Glasgow club to go to Leicester.

The programme also focuses on the role of the digital team working across the Evening Times and its sister titles.
