A TILLICOULTRY pub has been named as one of the finest in Britain, according to industry experts.

The Royal Arms won the award for its selection of real ales

Camra, the organisation behind the recognition, was founded in 1971 by ale enthusiasts and included the Clacks pub in their annual Good Beer Guide.

Landlord Troy Burns only took over the pub two years ago.

He said: “When I came in they didn’t have any real ales whatsoever. The previous landlord didn’t have bottles either because they were too expensive.”

“Not a lot of pubs have more than one selection. We have three, and they change regularly.”

Along with the Wetherspoons in Alloa, they are the only two local pubs to be named on the list of over 4,500 pubs across Britain.
