RETIRED residents and staff at an Alloa sheltered housing unit came together last month to enjoy a cuppa and raise funds for cancer support.

The event at Parkway Court, run by Hanover Housing Association, was hailed a success, raising £647 for Macmillan.

It saw hot brews and bakes on offer along with a raffle as well as a tombola stall organised by Erin and Callum Douglas from Alva Academy who raised £53 to add to the school’s whopping total, as reported in the Advertiser last week.

There was a lovely atmosphere at the event with thanks going to all who took part as well as to the local businesses who donated raffle prizes.
